Cult Nails - My Kind of Cool Aid

Hi Goddesses

I really can't remember how I got into following blogs.  I don't know which came first - blogs or Google images - but I do remember this being one of the first polishes that made me go ooooooh.   Unfortunately for me, at that time, Cult Nails didn't ship overseas.

As I am sure most of you know by now, I love purple polish.  It's the colour that dominates my stash, the colour for which I have every possible variation created and the colour which turns me on :)  Now, whisper this a little, but I've been unfaithful lately, loving all those blues and oranges, and this, well, this beauty has brought me home.

For a long time, my quest was to find the perfect purple - dusty, not too lilacy, not too dark and gorgeous as hell.   With Parlez Vous OPI and SH Mystic Lilac, I found them, but this, this takes it to a whole other level.

My Kind of Cool Aid is the supreme perfect purple - creamy, sublime and ladylike in every single way.  This is dusty purple, with a dollop of cream, a spoonful of grey and a sprinkling of chocolate.

Strangely, this colour seems to have 2 settings depending on the light.  It doesn't change colour in a duochrome way, but it does look different in different lights.

The first setting is that beautiful dusty purple - the one that leans grey - and which is darker than the bottle.  The second setting is the colour you can see in the bottle - where instead of being built on a dusty grey, this looks like it was built on a cup of very milky hot chocolate.

As you can probably see from the bottle shot, this also has very subtle flecking.  On the nail it's neither as obvious or as shimmery, but if you peer in very close it IS there, and it is beautiful.  I imagine you need something other than the great British weather though to see it.

By the way, Cult Nails probably has my favourite logo of any brand - there's something about the flourish of the lettering that's just so ooooooh la la - well, to me anyway :)

In England, we actually had sun today (which hid behind clouds when I went outside to take photos), so I hope you had a great day.

Enjoy xx :)
