Camouflage Nails

Nails I Love

Camouflage Nails …. Au purple

Hi Goddesses

I have wanted to do camouflage nails for the longest time as they think they look awesome.

A couple of months ago I dabbled on a nail wheel and they looked shit lol, so I abandoned the dream.  Since then, the idea has still kept me drooling, especially as it’s the wallpaper on my ipod Touch.

So last night I decided I’d have another try and holy mother of all the nail gods – I loves !!!  I don’t know what you think, but I think I pulled it off!

Things you need to know –
  • I used Sally Hansen Delphinium for the base and then OPI Parlez Vous OPI and Planks A Lot for the colours
  • I think these look best when your base is milky rather than bright
  • As so often, the trick is to find 3 colours that perfectly complement each other.  As soon as I reswatched Parlez Vous OPI the other day, I KNEW she’d be perfect for this, and she was
  • Know your skills – personally (and I have no idea why) I am better with a dotting tool than a brush.  I just find it much easier to get the colour in a depth that I want, so I used a medium dotting tool
  • Don’t be afraid for your patterns to overlap – this is sometimes when camouflage looks its best

In real life this really did look purple, albeit a nice muted grurple.  Some of the photos have gone a little beigey, but hopefully you get the idea.

I think I might do one a week of these for a while – they’re simple, you get to wear 3 awesome colours at once, and they make me smile J  you can’t ask more than that!

Enjoy J

Top Tip – if you’re ever unsure what a nail colour looks like, go to Google images, which will give you plenty of contrasts and compares.
