ESSIE - Smooth Sailing

Nails I Love

ESSIE – Smooth Sailing

Hellooooo Goddesses

So, today my blue theme continues with ESSIE Smooth Sailing.  Now, not only do I Not Like Blues, I also Do Not Like Essie. Lol – how well is this likely to go ?

Well, d’you know what ?  I actually quite liked it, not least because the Essie brush is tiny, which means people like me who naturally emulsion their nails make less mess – hurrah!

So, firstly, the blue.  Yikes, this is a yummy blue.  It’s what I would call cornflower blue – a nice bright but softened bright blue.   This has a dusty quality, partly because of the beautiful flecks, which gives it an ever so slight distressed denim vibe.

The flecks are an indefinable milky colour, not too obvious, but just enough to give the polish that little bit of depth, plush, and splendour.  Although glassy smooth, this looks textured, and all the more beautiful for it.

The blue is super splendid – a perfect sky on a perfect day, bright and brilliant, deep and dazzling.  There is the faintest hint of lilac to this (more obvious in the bottle) which dampens the brashness out of the brightness, creating a pretty, dusty cerulean dream.

Essies don’t apply well on me, and this was no exception.  The coverage I got wasn’t as smooth as most other brands, but that could just be me.

I know this is a massive favourite with lots of Goddesses out there.  It hasn’t quite overtaken Zoya’s JO as my favourite blue, but for a blue-hater, I feel much affection for this little one J

Enjoy J

Top Tip – if you’re ever unsure what a nail colour looks like, go to Google images, which will give you plenty of contrasts and compares.
