Last Saturday I was kind enough to share with you the unbelievable goodness that is Emily de Molly's Where Boys Fear to Tread, and today we have yet ANOTHER sensational pink holo, this time from Lilypad Lacquer.

This is Bubble Yummo - she's not subtle is she?   But isn't she GAWJUS???

I just can't feast my eyes on this one enough.  It's so glorious, out there, unashamedly bold and just argh PERFECT!

The Lilypad formula is awesome.  Effortless application, lovely brush.  This was 3 coats.  I could have stopped at 2, but I wanted MORE lol.

The holo in this is scattered, so it doesn't have the bend that the EdM polish had, so they are very different in that sense, but both are superb representations of a pink holo.

That said, this one does have a mini bend, and a lovely warm scatter to it, giving it a deliciously tropical flavour.

This is one of 3 or 4 polishes I have now that are very similar, so I will need to do a comparison soon, but this one wins for me so far on formula.

Neon Week - Different Dimension Neon Holos

And so Neon Week officially comes to an end.  I am a little shocked by how much I've loved it, but never fear, I have enjoyed it sooooo much that there is much more neon to come over the next couple of weeks.  It makes me HAPPY !!!

We end the week with some swatches I did a while ago.  I think these polishes came out at the end of January and I remember being *ridiculously* excited.   Since then, the world and its mother have released some amazing punk bright holos, but ooooh, I do love these.

So these are from the 80s Baby Neon Collex by Different Dimension.  I bought a couple and was also sent a couple for review.   What I love most is the thickness of these polishes.  They are all 2 coaters, but ridiculously glossy, so much so that every time I have worn then, people have asked me whether I am wearing gels.  No, just great polishes :)   The holo is scattered, for a delicate effect which doesn't battle the colour, but works with it.

Whatever is the purple.  It's hard to get a neon purple, but this is loud and bright and lovely.

Ditz is the bubblegum pink.  We've seen this shade a LOT this summer, and I must do a comparison post, because I think I have a whole paw's worth of polishes in this colour now.

A proper pink holo was my summer holy nail grail, and this one does not disappoint.  Rich, cheerful, but not sickly.

Homeboy is the blue.  He is brash and loud too - a really lovely bright shade.

This one isn't too neon, which makes it all the more versatile.

And finally Tubular, the orange.   This one looks sensational, and wow, what a unique colour to get in holo format.

This just looks amazing from every angle - intensity turned up to 11, and fazers definitely on stun.

Neon Week - Tangled In My Saran Wrap

I really don't understand why, but I have found Neon Week really inspiring and liberating.  Maybe it's that the colours are so "out there", that it makes you feel like anything goes, artwise.  Either way, I am a happy bunny this week.

Today's art is super simple, and is a great one for you to try if you want to dip your toe in the experimental pool. 

All the nails started with 2 coats of w7 White, and then got Saran Wrapped!  For those of you who don't know, this is when you apply your 2nd colour over your first, and then, whilst it's wet, attack it with a ball of saran wrap (or cling film, as we call it in the UK).

Now, I am lazy.  I am upstairs in the nail room, and the cling film is downstairs, so I always use what every polishaholic owns - bubble wrap!  I take a piece about 1 inch by 2, scrunch it up, and then dab at the wet polish.

The great thing about this mani, is you can keep going til you get the look you want.  Sometimes, too much white will creep through, but on the next dab, some of the colour (which is now on your saran wrap) will re-adhere to the nail.   If you need more help to rebalance, just add a line of polish to your nail, and maneovre it around.

I love the texture of a saran mani, but top coat does smooth it out.  Whilst it still looks great, it can lose a little something.

Finally, I added everybody's favourite black glitter, Wet N Wild Tangled In My Web, which was just perfect for this mani.

The colours used, thumb to pinkie were - China Glaze Orange You Hot, OPI Ogre The Top Blue, w7 Flourescent Pink, Sally Hansen Limestone and OPI A Roll In The Hague.
